Moon Shadows in Needle Felted Wool - Friday, Nov 13, 2026, 12:30-4:30 pm Cost: $140 registration (online) + $40 material fee (due in class), Limit 8 participants. Workshop Location: River Bottom Studio, 74 South Main St, Marshall, NC 28753 About the workshop: What better way to spend Friday the 13th than to dive into this moody, moonlit woodland scene. With all the right colors in your roving kit we will build the scene from night sky to forest floor using surprising layers of color to create an atmospheric effect. The final step is to play with the shadows until they beckon you into the landscape. You can complete the project in class or continue at home. All materials are provided with the materials fee, due in class. Each student receives a kit with a range of dyed wool roving in the project palette, felting needles, acrylic felt pinned to your own foam block worksurface plus handouts outlining steps and inspiration images. These materials are yours to take home to pursue more studio projects. Beginners are welcome in this workshop. General felting processes are explained as we go, as well as each fiber and technique as it's applied. Although we all follow the same steps together, each piece is unique.
