Summer Lake in Needle Felted Wool Project Workshop: Saturday, July 26, 2025, 12-4:00pm, $130 registration + $30 material fee Workshop Location: Mars Landing Galleries, 37 Library St, Mars Hill, NC 28754 Full event info and registration at www.MarsHillGalleries.com About the workshop: In this single session we will work on a needle-felted summer landscape, with dappled sun glinting across a blue lake and a few cattails on the shoreline. With all the right colors in your roving kit we will build the scene one step at a time, with particular attention to the tonal layers of color that create depth and highlight in the water. We will work the composition step-by-step together and complete the piece during class. All tools and materials will be explained as we work, and all necessary supplies are provided. You will leave class with a finished piece and materials for more at home, which are covered by a $30 material fee (due in class). Each kit includes a collection of dyed wool roving in the landscape palette, felting needles, acrylic felt pinned to a foam block and printed materials outlining tools, fibers and resources.
