Project Workshop: Blue Ridge Mountains $130/$30 material fee 1 day, Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, 12-4 pm Workshop Location: Local Cloth Community Dye Studio 408 Depot St.. Suite #100 Asheville, NC 28801 In this single session we will work step-by-step together on a mountain scene highlighting the subtle beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. With all the right colors in your roving kit we will work through special techniques to capture the shades that define the distance perspective of this unique landscape. You will complete a piece during class, unless you'd prefer to take it home to continue working. Previous needle felting experience is helpful, but not required. If you'd like to start with a more comprehensive lesson in needle felting tools and techniques I recommend you pick up a copy of my book Landscapes in Wool, The Art of Needle Felting or attend one of my Intro Workshops.) All materials are all provided with the $30 material fee, due in class. These include a kit for each student with a range of dyed wool roving in the project palette, felting needles, acrylic felt pinned to a foam block and printed materials outlining tools, fibers and resources. Classes are held in the fabulous Local Cloth Studios in Asheville's River Arts District at 408 Depot St, Asheville, NC 28801, suite #100 (at the north end of the building) There is plenty or parking available in the public lot across the street.
