Deep Forest in Needle Felted Wool: Friday, May 22, 2026, 12:30 - 4:30 pm $140 registration +FREE MATERIALS ($40 value, May 2026 workshops only) Limit 12 participants Workshop Location: River Bottom Studio, 74e South Main St, Marshall, NC 28753 In this single session project we will work through the depths of a forest, building the rich greens of deep woods to offset bright autumn color and distinctive birch trees in the foreground. With all the right colors in your roving kit we will build the scene one step at a time, working through the layers from dense foliage to individual leaves. You can complete the project in class or continue at home. Each student receives a kit with a range of dyed wool roving in the project palette, felting needles, acrylic felt pinned to your own foam block worksurface plus handouts outlining steps and inspiration images. All materials are provided with the materials fee, due in class. These materials are yours to take home to pursue more studio projects. Beginners are welcome in this workshop. You will be introduced to each fiber and technique, and every piece is unique to the maker, regardless of guidance or experience.
